Coaching

Coaching is a process that enables a person to view their life, self, and developmental journey from the present into the future through an external perspective.

Coaching is Fundamentally Change Management.

It is about adapting to change. It is a form of professional companionship that helps individuals become aware of themselves in various areas, choose their paths with awareness, and step forward decisively on those paths.

Coaching is about guiding people to think clearly and intentionally, helping them focus on what truly matters to achieve their goals effectively..

It truly encourages focus. This approach involves reciprocal communication and interaction. The coach is someone who listens intently, asks powerful questions, and provides space for the individual without directing them.

Coaching is a professional framework designed to help individuals uncover their self-awareness, identify solutions, and realize their full potential.

A coach is someone who applies all these systems with mindful awareness. To achieve this, a coach must enter a lifelong journey of learning that has a beginning but no end. Along with acquiring necessary techniques to practice professionally, they must also adopt a “coach mindset,” gain the competencies this approach requires, and engage in continuous self-work, learning, and self-development throughout life.

Who is a “Professionan Coach”?

A professional coach is someone who has completed at least  128 hours of training in an ICF-accredited program, fulfilled all program requirements, gained a minimum of 100 hours of professional coaching experience, and continuously works on their own development. They support themselves with ongoing training, grow within their coaching field, and embody coaching principles as life principles.
While coaching, the coach is a companion who listens deeply without judgment, supports the individual in reaching their desired outcomes with competent methods, and maintains lifelong confidentiality of personal information. Apart from constantly evolving knowledge and experience in coaching, the coach does not need to be an expert in the topics, profession, or agendas of those they coach.

In which areas is coaching applied?

A person who completes Erickson “The Art and Science of Coaching” certification program can offer coaching services in various fields of interest, such as career coaching, executive coaching, student coaching, and transformational coaching. To coach in specialized areas like team coaching or couple-family coaching, one must complete relevant additional training.
After finishing the foundational four-module coaching program, a person can apply the core competencies and skills in all fields of interest that don’t require further specialization.
Specialization in Coaching is an ongoing journey supported by extensive practical experience, continuous self-work towards “holistic human” development, reading and research in the field, following industry developments, networking, and communication with other coaches. Simply completing the foundational program does not make someone a competent coach; additional training and specialization are also beneficial.
